A few words about the work
I paint quietly and slowly. Most pieces begin as something noticed in passing — the particular grey of a wall at five o'clock, the shape a chair makes against a window — and end, weeks later, as something a little more permanent.

This site is a small room where those paintings can be looked at without hurry. You don't need an account to look, or to leave a like. If you'd like a piece made for you, the commissions page is the door.
I work mostly in oils, sometimes gouache, on linen and small panels. Each piece is built up slowly over several sittings — a thin ground, then layers that are allowed to dry and settle before the next mark. Nothing here is rushed; the work is about the looking as much as the painting.
